Seniors Festival To Celebrate Seniors In Our Community

Orange Council

The Seniors Festival will be held next month to celebrate the contributions of older people in our community.

The festival is the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, with over 500,000 people attending around NSW each year.

In Orange, it will be held from 11 to 24 March with the theme Reach Beyond.

Activities are open to older people aged 60 and over, people aged over 50 living with a disability and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people over 50.

Orange City Council Services Policy Committee Chair, Cr Mel McDonell said the Seniors Festival was a highly anticipated event.

"I am glad that our seniors will be able to enjoy so many activities this year, on top of the events already available in Orange for our seniors each week, and that all the activities are free" Cr McDonell said.

"It is important that seniors keep active and stay connected to one another. There are so many ways to Reach Beyond this NSW Seniors Festival and there's something for everyone."

All the activities offered during the Seniors Festival are free and fully funded by Orange City Council. Discover the full program of events in Orange below:
