Sewer Upgrade Works In Wallan

Yarra Valley Water will soon begin sewer upgrade works in Wallan to improve the reliability of their network and increase capacity for the area's growing community.

What's happening

The project involves:

  • building a new permanent sewer pump station near Mittagong Creek, and
  • installing a sewer pipeline from the new pump station to Butler Court, Wallan.

The works will be delivered in stages.

  • Part A includes tunnelling under Watson Street and installing new pipes along the road reserve and private properties to Butler Court. Work is expected to start in November 2025 and continue until March 2026.
  • Part B will involve constructing the new pump station and connecting the pipeline to Watson Street. This stage is planned to begin in mid-2026, following completion of detailed designs and approvals.

What to expect

Residents may notice construction activity, including:

  • noise and dust during excavation
  • construction vehicles on local streets
  • temporary traffic delays and signage around work zones
  • some tree and vegetation removal along Watson Street and nearby private land.

Yarra Valley Water has advised there will be no interruption to water or sewerage services during the works.
