Seymour Tennis Complex Upgrade Taking Shape

Works are progressing on the upgrade of Enclosure 1 at the Seymour Tennis Complex, part of a $1.716 million project to improve local sporting facilities and encourage greater community participation in tennis.

The upgrade will deliver a new concrete court base, LED competition lighting, improved fencing and access, and high-quality synthetic court surfacing.

The project also includes the demolition of disused courts, with the area to be returned to open green space.

Key construction milestones have been achieved in the past month, including the installation of fence posts, subgrade preparation, proof rolling and compaction, drainage works, electrical conduit installation, and the pouring of light pole footings.

Next up, the concrete base for the new courts is being poured, marking a major step forward in the project timeline.

The works are jointly funded by the Victorian Government through Sport and Recreation Victoria's Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund ($1 million), Mitchell Shire Council ($676,000), and the Seymour Tennis Club ($40,000), with project completion expected by mid-2025.

The project remains on track for completion by the end of June.
