Shaping Future Of Wollert's Bus Network

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government is inviting passengers in Wollert and Epping to help shape the future of their local bus network, with community consultation now open until Sunday, 8 March.

Minister for Public and Active Transport Gabrielle Williams today announced the start of community consultation to gather feedback from the Wollert and Epping North communities about additional services and changes to existing routes in the area.

Locals will be able to review the proposed bus network changes and have their say before plans are finalised and the new network is introduced next year.

The proposed changes include introducing a new bus service in eastern Wollert to serve Quarry Hill, Eucalypt Estate and areas north of Craigieburn Road, improving connections to the growing Lyndarum, Rathdowne and Mystique estates.

There are also plans to realign bus route 357 to better serve western Wollert around Yann Drive, giving more people access to a regular, reliable bus service within walking distance.

The proposed changes will give more than 21,000 people access to public transport for the first time, making it easier to get to work, school and appointments.'

For the first time, students at Al Sirrat College and Barrawang Primary School will have a public bus service right on their doorstep, giving families a convenient, reliable and more affordable way to travel.

The review of bus networks across the state follows the start of free public transport for Victorians under 18, with more than one million young Victorians and their families set to benefit.

Since launching Victoria's Bus Plan, more than 126 local bus networks have been improved, giving Victorian communities access to more than 11,000 extra services each week.

Feedback can be provided by completing a short survey or participating in one of the in-person pop-up sessions. Further information on how and where you can provide feedback can be found at engage.vic.gov.au/wollert-bus.
