The University of Sheffield is bringing an unforgettable afternoon of free live music to venues across the city centre, showcasing a mix of the city's finest established artists and rising stars.
On June 20, the Sheffield Music Trail will bring four free stages to the heart of the city, inviting music lovers of all ages to experience a snapshot of the incredible creativity that defines Sheffield's music scene.
The event acts as a curtain-raiser for the upcoming 'Sheffield City of Music' report, which will be released later this year. Commissioned by the University of Sheffield, the landmark study will reveal the full scale of music's economic and cultural impact while laying out a definitive roadmap for the city's musical future.

Sara Unwin, Head of Cultural Engagement at the University of Sheffield, said: "The unique sound of Sheffield is a fundamental part of our city's identity, and we're thrilled to work with the local music community with the Sheffield Music Trail.
"Because the trail coincides with our University open day, it is a fantastic opportunity for prospective students, locals and visitors alike to experience our incredible cultural vibrancy firsthand.
"We want everyone to join us - bring your family and friends to discover new artists, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy Sheffield at its absolute finest."
Neil McSweeney, Senior University Teacher at the University of Sheffield and co-founder and director of Hudson Records, said: "The flowering of world-class musical talent that Sheffield has produced time and again has deep and multifarious roots. It is important we recognise and value the many distinct communities of musical practice that make up the local grassroots scene today."
"The music trail is a chance to get a sense of the breadth and depth of that scene."
The University has also launched a new collaborative initiative alongside social impact platform Tickets for Good and the Sheffield Independent Venues Alliance (SIVA) to bolster the city's independent music ecosystem and broaden access to live performance.
As part of the University's ongoing commitment to Sheffield's vibrant cultural landscape, the partnership will see Tickets for Good directly support local venues during the Sheffield Music Trail.
Through the purchasing of tickets directly from SIVA members, the initiative provides immediate financial support to grassroots spaces while removing barriers for new audiences. These tickets will be distributed to individuals who work in service of others (such as the NHS) or face financial barriers, supporting mental health and well-being through increased access to the arts.
