ShineHub Solar And Battery Bulk Buy Returns

Residents are invited to unlock solar savings as the City of Mount Gambier launches the second round of its ShineHub Solar and Battery Bulk Buy program for 2026, with a free community information event at City Hall on Wednesday 17 June 2026.

The initiative returns following strong community interest in 2025, offering residents and small businesses access to exclusive solar panel, battery and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) offers, alongside expert advice to support informed energy decisions.

City of Mount Gambier CEO Paul Simpson said the program reflects Council's commitment to improving access to renewable energy solutions.

"The strong uptake of the program, with more than 115 households already involved, shows the growing interest in renewable energy across our community," Mr Simpson said.

"This initiative forms part of our broader vision to deliver practical, community based solutions that contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable city."

The free event will be held from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at City Hall on Watson Terrace, with entry via the Cave Garden/Thugi.

Attendees can view solar panels, inverters and battery systems on display, while solar experts will be on site to answer questions and help identify the most suitable solutions.

ShineHub Community Partnerships Manager Brogan Roods said the partnership is helping make clean energy more accessible.

"Our partnership with the City of Mount Gambier is about making clean energy simple, affordable and accessible for the local community," Mr Roods said.

"Through the bulk buy program, residents and small businesses can access tailored solar and battery solutions, along with the opportunity to benefit from Virtual Power Plant technology and long term energy savings."

Following high demand and a fully booked session in 2025, residents are encouraged to secure their place early.

"Events like this give our community the knowledge and confidence to take the next step in managing their energy use," Mr Simpson said.

Spaces are limited and bookings are essential.
