Shoe shop has new spring in its step

Horsham business Imelda Shoes and Accessories is part of the first round of successful applicants for Horsham Rural City Council's COVID Support Grants Program.

The grants program offers funding opportunities for individuals, businesses and community organisations to help prepare, respond and build resilience to the pandemic.

Applications are in three streams - Stronger Business, Recreation and Community Recovery, and Arts and Events Activation.

Imelda Shoes and Accessories, located in Roberts Avenue, will be using its Stronger Business stream grant of $1,200 to make its online presence "more user-friendly", says business owner Leanne Vincent.

"Through this grant, I've been given the opportunity to employ local expertise for my website. With their help, I'll be able to have my site better represent Imelda as a brand, and be able to fully utilise it in generating traffic," Ms Vincent said.

HRCC's COVID Support Grants Program is open to affected people and groups located in the Horsham municipality until March 2021, or until funding is fully allocated.

Applications will be assessed and approved monthly throughout this period to ensure support is available when it's needed.
