Single-vehicle crash leaves two men injured in Blayney

A man is in a critical condition with a second man suffering minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash in the state’s Central West, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Millthorpe Road, Blayney, just before 7pm yesterday (Thursday 8 March 2018), after reports a Ford Falcon had veered off the roadway into a table drain.

A number of passers-by stopped to assist until emergency services arrived.

A 33-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he was then airlifted to Westmead Hospital.

It is believed he will be transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital.

The driver, a 45-year-old man, was also treated at the scene for minor injuries before being taken to Orange Base Hospital, where he also underwent mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District, with assistance from Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
