COVID Cases in SA

There have been 4,079 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,276 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 90s, a man in his 60s, and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 241 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 11 people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 165 people are fully vaccinated, 75 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and one has an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 60% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 12,994 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 8.2% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,458 PCR tests were positive, while 1,621 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.4% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.3% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 71.4% of eligible South Australians and 65% of South Australians aged 16+.
