South Guildford assault and aggravated burglary

Midland Detectives are seeking information regarding an incident in South Guildford on Friday 1 March 2019, in which a 70-year-old woman was knocked unconscious.

The woman was in the rear of her Great Eastern Highway home watering her garden when sometime between 6pm and 6.30pm she noticed a man standing near her. She ran inside the home with the man following her. He grabbed her wrist but she managed to break-free and he continued to chase her inside the house.

The man assaulted her, causing her to lose consciousness and when she came to, she had a serious laceration to her hand.

Whilst she was unconscious the man had stolen a pack of frozen food from her freezer.

The man is described as being in his 20s, with olive skin, about 175cms tall, a slim build, and short wavy black hair. He was wearing a dark hooded jumper, long dark pants and dark shoes.

The incident has left the woman extremely traumatised, suffering anxiety. She has trouble sleeping and no longer takes her daily walks.

Detectives wish to speak to anyone who saw the man or any suspicious people in the area around the time of the incident, or anyone who was driving along Great Eastern Highway near Kalamunda Road in South Guildford around this time who has dashcam vision.
