Southern Cross consolidates Top 800 place in World University Rankings

For the third consecutive year Times Higher Education has named Southern Cross University in its Top 800 world universities.

The 2023 THE World University Rankings place Southern Cross within the 601-800 band.

Southern Cross University has consolidated its performance in three of the five overarching categories used to measure institutional progress: Research, Research Income, and International Outlook.

Vice Chancellor and President Professor Tyrone Carlin said it was a pleasing result for Southern Cross.

"We recognise the University has continued to maintain momentum in the World University Rankings. Initiatives such as the Southern Cross Model and the Research Clusters are all activities the University is undertaking to show the impact a small Australian regional university can make in the world," said Professor Carlin.

"The early results are positive – we look forward to seeing how this concentrated effort across our research and teaching manifests in the various university rankings algorithms."

The Times Higher Education annual series of rankings assess university performance on the global stage.

Physical sciences at Southern Cross achieved a Top 250 place in the most recent Subject Rankings.

Southern Cross is also ranked among THE's Top 200 Young Universities.
