Spotlighting Our Youth

2023 Bring It On! Festival hosted by fairfield city council.jpg

Next week marks the beginning of NSW Youth Week which sees the return of our major youth-led event Bring It On! at Fairfield Showground on Sunday 23 April from 12pm-6pm.

Join us for a massive celebration featuring headliner Billymaree and the Kookies N Kream crew; together with hip hop competitions, soccer, basketball, Baseball5, judo, dance and sports competitions, fitness demos, thrill rides, prizes and giveaways – and best of all, it's free!

For 20 years the Bring It On! Festival has provided the stage for our City's young people to put their skills, passions and strengths on show through music, sport and dance. The event would not be possible without the support of the Fairfield Youth Advisory Committee, who play an important role in planning and delivering the event with Council.

Last week I caught up with some members of the Fairfield Youth Advisory Committee who have been busy behind the scenes in the lead up to Bring It On! It's great to see so many young people volunteering their time to advocate for our City's youth, while at the same time developing leadership and team building skills. I'm especially proud that Council provides a platform for our youth to be a positive voice for young people – to let us know what matters to them most and encourage them to participate in community life.

Be sure to follow the #BringItOnfest crew on Facebook and Instagram for the latest on the Bring It On! Festival and I look forward to seeing you at the show!
