QLD Police statement on Constable Peter McAulay

The Queensland Police Service has confirmed that 24-year-old Constable Peter McAulay from Goodna Police Station was the officer seriously injured during an incident at Booval this morning.

Constable McAulay has today undergone surgery after sustaining serious head injuries and is in an induced coma in the intensive care unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. His condition remains critical.

Constable McAulay also sustained a number of other serious injuries during the incident, including broken bones and fractures.

Every officer and staff member of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) is thinking of Constable McAulay, his family and his loved ones today.

The QPS would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, paramedics and other medical and support staff who have been involved in his treatment.

The QPS is providing support to those closest to Constable McAulay and would also like to acknowledge the support being provided by the Queensland Police Union of Employees.

It is the sincere hope of the QPS that Constable McAulay’s condition improves as he is treated for his very serious injuries.
