Statement On Incident At United Wambo Mine

The Minerals Council of Australia wants to express its condolences to the family, friends and workmates of a mining worker who has died after a mobile equipment incident today at the United Wambo Joint Venture coal operation in the Hunter Valley in NSW.

The MCA also thanks the emergency services personnel who responded to this incident.

Safety remains the highest priority for our industry, and any loss of life is a stark reminder of the critical importance of our ongoing efforts to ensure every worker returns home safely.

The MCA, alongside the entire Australian mining community, will continue to work hard to eliminate fatalities across the sector.
