Western Sydney University has retained its spot amongst the top 250 universities in the world following the release of the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
The prestigious THE World University Rankings for 2023 ranked almost 1,800 universities across 104 countries and regions, measuring performance across the areas of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Western Sydney University scored strongly across these ranking categories, firmly cementing its position in the top two per cent of universities worldwide.
This achievement follows an outstanding performance in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings announced earlier this year, where Western Sydney University was named 1st in the world for its social, ecological, and economic impact – topping the list of more than 1,400 institutions.
Vice-Chancellor and President of Western Sydney University, Professor Barney Glover AO, says these latest rankings are an impressive achievement, thanking everyone across the University for their contributions.
"Our staff and students can be incredibly proud of their hard work, unstinting commitment and shared aspiration to being a truly world-class university – one that is recognised internationally for our research impact, our strong engagement with our local and global partners, and our innovative, student-led approach to teaching," said Professor Glover.
"As an anchor institution embedded in western Sydney, we are particularly proud of our work to drive important social change and transformation with and for our local communities, as well as our role to help produce the next generation of innovators, thought leaders and civic-minded citizens.
