Stolen car hits pedestrian in Corio

Major Collision Investigation Unit and Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a woman was struck by an allegedly stolen car in Corio on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Shepherdson Road around 5.10pm, to reports a car had lost control and struck a pedestrian on a mobility scooter.

The 46-year-old Corio woman on the scooter was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old teenage boy, fled the scene but was arrested a short distance away.

The boy is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Geelong CIU are investigating whether there is any links between the teenager allegedly involved in this collision and the teenagers, arrested in relation to the alleged high risk driving in Geelong overnight.
