Strike Force Gindurra: Raptor charges 10th man over drug ring

Raptor Squad detectives have charged a tenth man after an investigation into an alleged drug ring in the Illawarra region.

In February 2023, State Crime Command's Raptor Squad South established Strike Force Gindurra to investigate the large-scale supply of cocaine by alleged associates of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMCG) and Organised Crime Networks (OCN) in the Illawarra Region.

Nine men – three aged 21, two aged 42, two aged 25, one each aged 30 and 38 – have been arrested and charged under Strike Force Gindurra and remain before the courts.

Following further extensive inquiries, about 9am yesterday (Tuesday 6 June 2023), strike force detectives attended an address on Shearwater Driver in Lake Heights where they arrested a 20-year-old man.

The man was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with eight offences including:

- Participate criminal group contribute criminal,

- Supply prohibited drug >indictable &

- Supply prohibited drug >small &

- Supply prohibited drug

- Supply prohibited drug

- Take part supply prohib drug > indictable &

- Self administer/attempt self administer prohibited drug, and

- Possess prohibited drug.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 21 June 2023.
