Emergency services remain at the scene of a large fire in Mayfield this afternoon.
About 3.30pm (Monday 18 May 2026), emergency services were called to the corner of Denison Street and Maitland Road following reports of a structure fire.
At the scene, officers located a building alight.
Residents within 1km of the location are urged to close doors and windows to mitigate any smoke, fumes or embers entering their homes.
Road closures are in place on Maitland Road and other surrounding streets. Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Community members are urged to avoid the area, stay away from smoke and embers, and follow the direction of emergency services personnel.
The operation remains ongoing, and more information will be released when available.
