Students hit screen to show Territory Day pride

Territory Day will be celebrated a bit differently in 2020, but it won't stop Territory schools from showing their Territory pride in a creative, new way.

Using the Territory's own Black Rock Band's song "Family", students are encouraged to submit a short video sharing what they love most about living in the NT, in particular the place they live.

From remote and urban centres across the Territory, all Northern Territory students will have the opportunity to participate and go in the running to be one of three Chief Minister's Prize winners.

Three schools, one each from the north, south and remote areas, will win the ultimate portable multimedia studio, including an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard, Yeti USB microphone, GoPro8 4K Action Cam, mounts and accessories and case, each worth $5000.

There are no restrictions on creativity — students can sing along to the song, use it as backing track, incorporate artwork, history, poetry or simply tell us on camera what they love about their part of the Territory.

Entries close on 19 June 2020 and will be judged by the Chief Minister's Judging Panel.
