A Sudan-born man has appeared before Campbelltown Magistrates Court today (21 November, 2025) charged with failing to comply with his visa-mandated curfew conditions.
The AFP located and charged the man, 31, yesterday (20 November, 2025) in Sydney.
It will be alleged he breached the conditions of his Commonwealth visa by failing to ensure his electronic monitoring device was in good working condition and failing to observe his residential curfew obligations.
He was charged with:
- One count of failing to comply with visa curfew conditions, contrary to section 76C (1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth); and
- One count of failing to comply with electronic monitoring conditions, contrary to section 76D(3) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
The maximum penalty for each offence is five years' imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.
The man was granted conditional bail and is next scheduled to appear in Campbelltown Magistrates Court on 16 January 2026.
