Becoming a dad is a life-changing event, but for some it can also be a very isolating time.
In a supportive and inclusive space across four nights in June, dads of children aged under one will be able to connect with other dads, share stories and learn from each other.
As a new parent, building a healthy relationship with your child is the most important thing that you can do in your child's life. But being a parent of a young child comes with its challenges. Sleepless nights, 24/7 care requirements, navigating a new parental identity, juggling work commitments, as well as parenting roles and relationships.
Dads Connect in Knox will help dads gain confidence while navigating the challenges of early fatherhood, by sharing and connecting with other dads who get it. It will also provide the opportunity to gain insights on mental health, communicating with your partner and other carers, and maintaining strong and healthy family relationships.
So, if you are a dad to a newborn or a child aged under one, come for the pizza and stay for the chats with other dads in Knox.
When: Tuesdays in June (2, 9, 16 and 23 June)
Time: 7 - 8.30pm
Where: Knox Community Arts Centre, 790 Mountain Highway, Bayswater.
Dads are encouraged to attend all four sessions, with partners and other carers invited to attend the last session.
A Maternal Child Health Nurse will be at each session to answer any questions you might have.
Dads Connect in Knox is a free program presented by Knox City Council and Relationships Australia Victoria.
