Suspicious act lands one in court

Vigilant Police officers on the hunt in the Glenfield area overnight managed to locate a person wanted by Police.

At around 3.25am, a Police unit patrolling Glenfield Road noticed a vehicle driving in a suspicious manner.

Waitematā East Area Prevention Manager, Inspector Todd Moore-Carter, says the driver attempted to evade Police by driving down a small slip road.

"The officers have managed to stop the vehicle and found two men associated with the Head Hunters gang.

"One man was arrested by Police on warrant matters.

"The alleged driver of the vehicle also failed a Breath Screening Test and is facing driving charges related to excess breath alcohol," Inspector Moore-Carter says.

"I want to acknowledge the efforts of our staff who work tirelessly to hold these offenders to account.

"We hope this arrest will provide some reassurance to the community, who I know do not stand for behaviour which continues to put them, and the wider community, at risk."

A 37-year-old man will appear in Waitākere District Court today.
