Swiss University Blocks Amnesty Event With Albanese

UN Watch

A major event by Amnesty International featuring Francesca Albanese, the so-called UN expert on human rights, has just been vetoed by the University of Bern in the capital of Switzerland, citing a lack of balance.

The leading Swiss daily Neue Zürcher Zeitung reported that concerns stemmed from Albanese’s comments at a 2022 Hamas conference where she told the terrorist organization: “You have a right to defend yourselves.

Reacting to the decision by the University of Bern, UN Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer said: “We showed the truth. We showed the fact that Albanese told a Hamas conference, You have the right to resist, and now even the Swiss are saying no more.

“Just last month, Switzerland banned Hamas, and now this UN cheerleader for Hamas has been banned,” he added. “They shut her down. This is a victory for truth. It’s a victory for decency. It’s a victory for everyone who refuses to stay silent when the UN gives cover for terror.
