A man from Cartwright, Sydney, was left breathless after finding out he'd won almost $770,000 in last Saturday's Lotto draw. The Sydneysider was one of the seven lucky division one winners in the Saturday Lotto draw 4399 held on September 16, 2023. Each division one entry took home $768,013.61.
"Are you serious?!" the man exclaimed as he received a call from lotto officials to confirm his windfall.
"Oh s***! Oh my God, I can't breathe! This is life-changing!"
Despite being at work at the time of the call, the winner admitted that focusing on his job for the rest of the day would be a challenge.
"I've been playing these numbers for something like five to ten years," he said, revealing that his winning numbers were initially random choices.
"After a couple of draws, I decided to stick with these numbers, and they've finally paid off."
The elated winner already has plans for his newfound fortune.
"The first thing I'm doing is calling my wife and telling her she can have whichever car she likes," he said, emphasizing the impact this would have on their daily commute.
"Then I'll set aside the rest for a home deposit and maybe a few other treats in the future. Thank you so much. I can't believe it!"
The man's winning marked six-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com, the official home of Australia's lotteries. The winning numbers for the draw were 37, 28, 27, 11, 41, and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 1.
Across Australia, seven division one winning entries were recorded in Saturday Lotto draw 4399, including three in New South Wales, two in Queensland, and one each in South Australia and Western Australia.
