Sydney Trains Staff Sexually Assaulted, Man Charged

A man will appear in court today charged over alleged sexual touching in Sydney's west.

About 1pm on Saturday (6 April 2024), a 26-year-old female Sydney Trains Transport officer was working at Parramatta Railway Station, when she was approached by a man who allegedly sexually touched her and made remarks of a sexual nature.

She moved away from the man who approached her a second time and made further sexual based remarks.

Officers attached to Police Transport Command North West were patrolling the station a short time later and were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 35-year-old man at a home on Graham Street, Doonside, about 4.40pm yesterday (Monday 8 April 2024).

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent and common assault.

The man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Tuesday 9 April 2024).
