Tasmania's unique tourism offerings will be showcased at Australia's biggest business-to-business travel trade event in Brisbane this week.
Tourism Tasmania will be joined by 29 Tasmanian tourism operators at the annual Australian Tourism Exchange, with more than 3000 appointments booked with potential buyers across four days.
The Australian Tourism Exchange attracts more than 700 influential travel distribution buyers and media delegates from around the world.
The event also includes showcases and activations on products and experiences from right across Australia.
Premier and Minister for Tourism, Jeremy Rockliff, said the event is a valuable opportunity for Tasmanian operators.
"Last year, 254,000 International travellers visited Tasmania, spending $551.3 million in the state across the year," the Premier said.
"As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we have a goal to sustainably grow international visitation.
"We know many overseas travellers book their holidays via travel agents and travel distributors, so it is important that we are supporting our tourism industry to have a strong representation at trade events like the Australian Tourism Exchange.
"Our goal is to bring the world to Tasmania by equipping international travel influencers and distributors with the knowledge and passion to promote our premium experiences — including our world-class agritourism.
Sarah Clark, CEO, Tourism Tasmania said it was an exciting for Tasmania to be on show at this year's Australian Tourism Exchange.
"We put a lot of planning and effort into ensuring Tasmania stands out at the Australian Tourism Exchange. We want international travel distribution buyers and media to understand and feel connected to Tasmania and see our state as a desirable holiday destination that is unique to Australia," Ms Clark said.
"We are particularly excited to be participating in the 'Destination Showcase' focusing on farm and food trails from across Australia. Tasmania's food and beverage experiences are a key tourism strength — with around one quarter of our international visitors drawn to Tasmania to experience our food and drink."
A delegation of 34 international travel distribution buyers and media will visit Tasmania pre- and post the Australian Tourism Exchange event.
The visits are an opportunity for key international partners to have a first-hand experience of Tasmania's tourism offerings across each region of the state.
The Australian Tourism Exchange 2025 runs until May 1.
