Tasmanian Inspector receives Australian Police Medal

Mark Shelton,Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management

Congratulations to Inspector Glen Ball, who has today received the Australian Police Medal in the Queen's Birthday 2020 Honours List following more than 40 years of service with Tasmania Police.

This achievement is a testament to the work he has undertaken in communities across the state, and particularly his efforts leading complex investigations into notoriously dangerous crimes.

One of these operations saw Inspector Ball awarded a Commissioner's High Commendation for his "devotion to duty, leadership and high level management skills leading to the highly successful outcome of Operation Northcote – solving cold case murder, clearing scores of crimes committed across the State".

His professionalism, integrity, achievements and sustained commitment to the Tasmanian community is evident, and I once again congratulate him of this formal recognition through the awarding of the Australian Police Medal.
