Teen critically injured in trail bike crash at Wagga Wagga

A teenager is in a critical condition after a single-vehicle trail bike crash at Wagga Wagga overnight.

Just before 12.30am (Wednesday 10 June 2020), emergency services were called to parkland off Ashmont Avenue, Ashmont, following reports a trail bike had crashed.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended.

Police were told that the unregistered trail bike was being ridden on a dirt track when the rider, a 15-year-old boy, crashed.

He sustained life-threatening head injuries and was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in a critical condition.

The pillion passenger, a 23-year-old man, was also injured and was taken to the same hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established, and detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
