Three boys have been charged with a string of alleged aggravated break and enters in Sydney' north west.
In March 2026, Strike Force Sweetenham – North West Metropolitan commenced investigations into a spate of break and enters in North Avoca, Lalor Park, Beaumont Hills, The Ponds, Kellyville Ridge. Rouse Hill and Macquarie Park.
Police will alleged during the thefts, numerous vehicles were stolen and used in other offences including a BMW, Jeep, Audi, Toyota and a Hyundai.
Following extensive inquiries, about 1am on Saturday 25 April 2026, investigators, with the assistance of the Operational Support Group, attended a temporary accommodation on Lane Cove Road, Macquarie Park and arrested three teenage boys – two aged 15 and one aged 16.
Following a subsequent search, police allegedly located and seized keys to a stolen Hyundai Palisade, which had been stolen earlier that morning from a home in Bungarribee.
The vehicle was located about 100 metres from the scene and has been seized to undergo forensic examination.
Knives and face coverings were also allegedly located during the search.
A crime scene warrant was executed at the property where police seized mobile phones.
The boys were taken to Gladesville Police Station.
One 15-year-old boy was charged with armed with intent commit indictable offence, possess means of disguising face with intend commit indictable offence, custody of knife in public place.
The second 15-year-old and 16-year-old were charged with:
- Seven counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than $60000
- Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner
- Armed with intent commit indictable offence
- Possess means of disguising face with intend commit indictable offence and,
- Custody of knife in public place
The 15-year-old was also charged with dishonestly obtain property by deception and the 16-year-old with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.
All three boys were refused bail to appear before a children's court the same day Saturday 25 April 2026.
The two 15-year-olds were granted bail to reappear on Friday 8 May 2026 and the 16-year-old formally refused to reappear on the same day.
Investigations under Strike Force Sweetenham are continuing.
