Plans to transform surgical care at Bentley Health Service are moving ahead, with a tender released to appoint a lead architectural consultant for the new Bentley Surgicentre.
The tender also seeks a team of specialist subconsultants to work alongside the lead architect on the project's full design and documentation in specialist areas of civil and structural engineering, mechanical, hydraulics and electrical systems, security and landscape architecture.
The new $167 million Bentley Surgicentre will separate elective surgery from emergency care and will help to reduce demand on hospitals.
Once complete, the Surgicentre will include six operating theatres, two procedure rooms, a 24-bed surgical ward and additional medical consulting rooms.
The project is jointly funded by the State and Commonwealth Governments and is part of the Cook Government's major investment in health infrastructure across Western Australia.
The tender is available on Tenders WA and closes on 21 October 2025.
As stated by Health Infrastructure Minister John Carey:
"This milestone brings us a step closer to expanding elective surgery services and reducing wait times for patients.
"The new Bentley Surgicentre will separate elective and emergency surgery, making it easier for more people to get the treatment they need sooner, while easing the pressure on our hospitals.

"This is about improving access to healthcare to ensure Western Australians get the care they need when they need it."
