This Mother's Day, the Queensland Police Service (QPS) acknowledges the extraordinary mothers across Queensland, with heartfelt appreciation for the "Mums in Blue" who selflessly serve their communities throughout their policing careers.
From frontline officers to administrative and staff, the QPS acknowledges the diverse and vital roles mothers play across the organisation, and the invaluable contributions they make, which strengthen and enrich our team.
Mother of four, Senior Sergeant Crystal Moore is the Officer in Charge of North Brisbane District's Crime Prevention Unit and Cross Cultural Liaison Unit.

Senior Sergeant Moore says mothers within the QPS embody resilience, compassion, and leadership, balancing the demands of their professional roles with the responsibilities of family life.
"QPS reflects the diverse communities we serve, which is why it's essential to have women, including mothers, in our ranks and in leadership roles," Senior Sergeant Moore said.
"When I walk into a meeting, my role as a mother allows me to bring compassion and a different perspective and lens.
"The QPS is stronger for having women and mums in the service.''
Marilyn Jackson is the Mackay Whitsunday District City and Pioneer Valley Patrol Group Inspector.
Policing is ingrained in her family. She is married to Superintendent Brett Jackson, and together, they have two children. Continuing their family's legacy of service, their son has also proudly followed in their footsteps and now works in the Criminal Investigation Branch.
"As mums, we make excellent police officers because we bring a unique set of skills honed through our lived experiences,'' Inspector Jackson said.
"From mastering active listening and effective negotiation to excelling in time management, our patience and empathy enable us to build connections with the communities we service, fostering trust and understanding.
"The QPS is a great career for women and mums, as there are so many different career paths and opportunities. In my 22 years in the QPS, I've loved every role I've performed.''
Sergeant Alicia Finigan, a Fingerprints Officer in the Forensic Science Group, who has a son and a daughter, says being a mother in the QPS is very rewarding.

"I often perform emotionally demanding and intensive work, and it can be challenging balancing work and family time," Sergeant Finigan said.
"But as parents and mums, we bring many strengths such as empathy, patience and resilience and the ability to stay calm.
"These are qualities which make us valuable employees in the police service but also make us great mums.''
Inspector Jackson, Senior Sergeant Moore and Sergeant Finigan are all off-duty this Mother's Day and are looking forward to spending precious family time with their loved ones.
The QPS extends warm wishes to all mothers this Mother's Day and acknowledges the immeasurable impact they have on their families and communities.
