Theft from car and assault at Unley, South Australia

Police are investigating a theft from a car and an assault at Unley early this morning.

Just before 4.40am on Sunday 23 October police were called to Young Street after a 47-year-old woman reported that her car had been broken into and items stolen.

The victim had woken up after hearing noises and noticed three males breaking into her car. The offenders ran off towards King William Road and were chased by the victim and her young son. An altercation took place and both the victim and her son sustained non-life threatening stab wounds. The offenders fled the scene.

Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police located a knife nearby.

The first suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 175cm tall, long brown hair and was wearing a hooded black jacket. The second suspect was of African appearance, slim build, 165cm tall, short dark hair, slight stubble, and was wearing a black jacket and trousers. The third suspect was of African appearance, slim build, 165cm tall and was wearing dark clothing
