Three arrested as part of Operation Tirade

Moorabool police have arrested three people wanted on warrants as part of Operation Tirade - a one day operation targeting active criminal offenders.

The operation, which saw a highly visible police presence deployed across Ballan and Creswick, also saw five arrest warrants issued, 160 vehicles checked, 134 preliminary breath tests performed, 7 infringement notices issued, and one vehicle impounded.

The three people arrested on outstanding warrants were wanted for a range of property and traffic offences.

Acting Senior Sergeant Daniel York said Ballan and Creswick uniform police officers, Ballarat's Divisional Response Unit, the Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit and local Highway Patrol were all involved in the operation.

"Today was considered a success, as we managed to track down people for outstanding warrants and detect a number of traffic offences as part of Operation Tirade," Acting Senior Sergeant Daniel York said.

"This operation was conducted to increase police visibility across the Moorabool area and reassure the community that we are working hard to keep them safe.

"During this operation we utilised a range of methods, including roadblocks, PBT sites, and active patrols.

Victoria Police will conduct further operations throughout the year across the Moorabool area.
