Ticket to Play going swimmingly

Jane Howlett,Minister for Sport and Recreation

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is committed to improving water safety across the State.

Since including Learn to Swim in the Ticket to Play Program last month, I'm pleased to announce that there are now 10 Learn to Swim centres set up to redeem Ticket to Play vouchers, with several others well on the way to getting involved.

Eight of the centres are in Hobart, with another on the West Coast and at SWIRL in Smithton.

Learning to swim offers children a wide range of aquatic activities to enjoy, including swimming, sailing, boating, surfing and fishing.

Our Government offers Ticket to Play vouchers to increase the number of young Tasmanians who are active and involved in sporting clubs, Scouts, Guides or Cadets.

As at 25 October 2021, there have been 4,682 Ticket to Play vouchers issued since 1 July 2021.

Ticket to Play vouchers are available for children aged five to 18 listed on a valid Centrelink Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or who are in Out of Home Care.
