Tipper truck reverses into police car

Police are seeking information from the public to help identify a truck and driver that reversed into a police car at Parafield on Thursday afternoon.

About 2pm on Thursday 2 February police traffic patrol stopped the small tipper truck off Lawrence Hargrave Way, Parafield as it was not displaying a rear number plate.

As the officer was getting out of the marked police car, the driver of the truck rapidly reversed and collided with the front of the police vehicle causing minor damage.

The truck then drove off, speeding past the front of the busy hardware store car park.

Fortunately, the officer wasn't injured during the incident.

Police suspect the vehicle involved is a 2007 Mitsubishi Canter tipper truck and ask anyone who recognises it or has information on its whereabouts or driver to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
