From Sunday 6 July to 27 July, Transport Victoria is delivering vital road maintenance and drainage works at night on Toorak Road between Glenferrie Road and Milton Parade in Malvern.
These works involve replacing layers of the road, asphalt resurfacing and line marking to restore the condition of the road surface. The drainage network is also being upgraded to improve storm water flow.
When the works are happening
Works will occur between 9.00pm and 5.00am, to minimise traffic disruptions and keep works crews safe. The works are expected to take three weeks to complete.
No works will occur on Friday and Saturday nights or public holidays.
Please note that dates and times are subject to change based on weather conditions.
What to expect during the works 6 July to 16 July
Work will occur on the south side of Toorak Road between Glenferrie Road and Henderson Avenue.
One lane in each direction will remain open in this area at night, with reduced speeds.
One westbound lane will be closed during the day, with reduced speeds.
What to expect during the works 13 July to 27 July
Work will occur on Toorak Road between Glenferrie Road and Milton Parade.
Toorak Road will be closed in both directions between Glenferrie Road and Milton Parade.
Resident access to properties in the work area will be maintained by traffic controllers on site.
Detours will be in place on Glenferrie Road, Malvern Road, Monash Freeway, Bourke Road, Tooronga Road and Riversdale Road.
No access to Toorak Road (to City) from the Monash Freeway off ramps.
Motorists travelling west along Toorak Road will detour before Milton Parade via the Monash Freeway and Tooronga Road.
All lanes in each direction on Toorak Road between Milton Parade and Glenferrie Road will be open during the day, with reduced speeds in place.
Impacted residents are being contact where there are temporary access restrictions to their properties.
Expect travel delays up to 10 minutes on Toorak Road. Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time if Toorak Road is part of your journey.
