A key document which drives forward the vision, goals and key priorities for the Toowoomba Region has opened for community consultation today.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald said the 2024-2029 TRC Corporate Plan sets out the strategic vision for the organisation and the community with performance indicators to measure progress.

"This is an important document which outlines how we plan to support a safe, healthy and engaged Region. This will also drive planned growth throughout the Region for the coming years," Mayor McDonald said.

"The community can review the draft corporate plan and provide their feedback on Council's vision, goals and key priorities for the next five years.

"The key priorities identified in the Corporate Plan set the basis of Council's annual Operational and Financial Plans.

"At the end of each financial year, Council documents in its Annual Report the level of success in implementing the Corporate and Operational Plans," Mayor McDonald said.

"Council has undertaken a number of consultation activities with the community, our staff, our leadership team and elected representatives. From this consultation we have identified the goals that will drive what we do to responsibly manage our community and Region.

"These goals are People (Community and Wellbeing), Place (Infrastructure and Environment), Prosperity (Economic, social advancement and advocacy), and Performance (Council workforce).

"Residents are encouraged to provide feedback in writing to help us understand what's important to our community."
