The Territory's brightest Vocational Education and Training (VET) achievers were celebrated last night at the 2025 Northern Territory Training Awards gala.
This year's finalists represented an impressive and diverse range of industries, including retail, business, process plant operations, electrotechnology (electrician), engineering - fabrication trade, engineering - mechanical trade, supply chain operations, training and assessment, construction pathways, aviation, allied health assistance, air conditioning and refrigeration, hospitality, commercial cookery, first aid and individual support (ageing and disability).
Eligible winners will go on to represent the Northern Territory at the Australian Training Awards, to be hosted in Darwin on Friday 5 December, the first time the national event has returned since 2016.
In the 70th year of NT Training Awards, Territory wide training providers and employers were recognised, including Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO) employing the Austin Asche Apprentice of the Year, Evangelene Rushforth, and Hastings Deering, winning the Large Employer of the Year Award.
Minister for Education and Training Jo Hersey, who attended the awards, congratulated the recipients and reaffirmed the Finocchiaro CLP Government's commitment to building a strong, skilled workforce in the NT.
"Our 2025 award recipients are a testament to the quality of training we have here in the Territory - from our passionate trainers and committed organisations to the hardworking apprentices and trainees shaping their futures through VET.
"As a former tradie and small business owner myself, I know firsthand how vital it is to have a skilled workforce driving economic growth.
"That's why, under the Finocchiaro CLP Government's Rebuilding the Economy Strategy, we are committed to delivering local education and training opportunities that equip Territorians with the skills they need now and in the future."
Congratulations to this year's winners and runners-up across all individual categories.
