NT Tourism Business Restart Fund established to support tourism, hospitality and events businesses impacted by recent severe weather.
Grants of up to $5,000 to assist with repairs and replacements ahead of the 2026 peak tourist season.
Part of broader recovery support, alongside Commonwealth disaster payments and additional grants.
From the Top End to the Barkly, and from Big Rivers to Central Australia, Territorians have confronted seven severe weather events, record-breaking rainfall, and major flooding and disruption.
The CLP Finocchiaro Government is helping Territory businesses to recover with a new targeted grant program leading into the dry season.
Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Marie-Clare Boothby has been engaging with business owners impacted by the significant weather events and said that while recovery was the focus, some operators were starting with the odds stacked against them.
"I've seen firsthand the impact these weather events have had on our tourism operators. For many it's meant closing their doors until stock can be replaced and repairs, completed," Minister Boothby said.
"Many business owners are doing it tough, and when I'm speaking with them, they're asking for a hand-up to get the doors open and to keep them open - help which is fast and simple. That's exactly what this funding delivers."
The one-off NT Tourism Business Restart Fund will provide practical assistance to eligible businesses, with grants of up to $5,000 to repair or replace damaged equipment and infrastructure.
"This isn't a fix-all offer, and I know that no amount of money is going to be enough. But this is targeted relief where it's needed - dispensed quickly - to assist businesses in getting back up and running."
The program has been designed to be simple and fast, with applications opening on 22 April 2026 and assessed as they are received to ensure funding reaches businesses as quickly as possible. Applications close Friday, 8 May 2026.
It comes after support payments were made available to businesses, primary producers and community organisations under the joint Disaster Recovery Arrangements.
"Our message is clear, the Territory is open, and we welcome visitors for the season ahead," Minister Boothby said.
