Traditional Sectors Reap Benefits of Innovation

Atlantic Canada's traditional industries are a key source of community pride, vitality and identity. Investing in strategic planning and new technologies helps ensure rural-based businesses can adapt, modernize and compete on a global scale.

That is why the Government of Canada is helping five organizations in Central P.E.I. explore new ways to innovate and drive economic growth in their communities.

Improving business operations

Today, Heath MacDonald, Member of Parliament for Malpeque, announced a total investment of $480,000 in five organizations to support modernization and growth for rural businesses in Central P.E.I. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.
