Liverpool's world-class concert hall, The Tung Auditorium has begun its autumn season with an eclectic programme of internationally-renowned artists, local talent and unique collaborations with creative organisations such as BlackFest, Milap, and Liverpool Irish Festival.

Bidston-born Adrian Chandler, a leading interpreter of Italian Baroque music, brings his UK Classical chart-topping ensemble La Serenissima to The Tung on Friday 22 September. In a rare performance in the North West, La Serenissima will deliver their uplifting rendition of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, which has been streamed more than 100 million times.

For the first time The Tung is partnering with BlackFest, a multi-arts festival celebrating Black creatives, to present award winning saxophonist, composer and broadcaster YolanDa Brown OBE. YolanDa will bring her delicious fusion of reggae, jazz and soul to The Tung on Wednesday 27 September.

The Tung Auditorium's well-loved free lunchtime concert series will also get underway at 1pm on Wednesday 27 September with a further BlackFest collaboration, featuring Satin Beige, an R&B cellist who has previously opened the main stage at Africa Oyé.

Jazz pianist and composer Zoe Rahman will be returning to The Tung on Friday 13th October, following her performance with Courtney Pine last year.

Zoe said: "I'm really looking forward to returning to the beautiful Tung Auditorium to celebrate my new album with eight incredible musicians - I loved playing there last year with Courtney Pine - the space, the piano and the audience were all amazing!"

Internationally acclaimed folk singer and actor Lisa Lambe will bring her new project Nightvisiting to The Tung as part of the Liverpool Irish Festival on Friday 20th October. NightVisiting reconnects the audience to the social role that nighttime house visits once played in our oral traditions and folklore, and in the preservation of our songs and stories.

This season University's longstanding partnership with Liverpool Philharmonic continues with their contemporary music group Ensemble 10:10, plus the first concert of the Liverpool Philharmonic's Chamber Series in the auditorium; the Elias Quartet with Jonathan Biss.

The bumper programme wouldn't be complete without the Liverpool University Music Society Winter Concert on Friday 15 December, followed by a dream-like winter fantasia from the much-loved Unthank Sisters, to usher in the Christmas season.

The Tung Auditorium Artistic Director, Richard Hartwell said: "We're really excited to be launching our latest season of events with incredible collaborations and with partners old and new from across the city.

"Have a look at the full line up and make sure to get your tickets booked."

The Tung Auditorium is situated in the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre at the University of Liverpool on the corner of Grove Street and Oxford Street. To view the Autumn 2023 programme, and to book your tickets, please visit: https://thetungauditorium.com/events/
