Two Autism WA Homes Under Construction In Ellenbrook

  • Two new four-bedroom homes in Ellenbrook for people with disability
  • Homes being built with $1.05 million Community Housing New Build Grant funding
  • A critical part of our $5.1 billion social housing investment program

Construction has commenced in January 2025 on two new homes in Ellenbrook for people with autism.

The Autism Association of Western Australia appointed Motive Building Group to build the two four-bedroom homes, which are being delivered with the help of a $1,057,644 Community Housing New Build Grant from the State Government.

The Autism Association of WA is one of the largest specialist lifespan organisations in Australia providing services to people with autism.

The primary purpose of the Ellenbrook project is to provide a supported environment for people with autism, along with one or two other people who also require similar support.

The purpose-designed dwellings can each accommodate three adults with autism and a 24/7 carer and will meet the Improved Liveability and Silver Level Living Housing Design Guidelines.

Base and frame have now been completed and the roof construction is currently underway.

As stated by Housing and Works Minister John Carey:

"The State Government is committed to ensuring we meet the diverse needs of tenants across WA, including people with autism who require specialised accommodation.

"The Community Housing New Build Grants program is a substantial investment to help meet this commitment by enabling the construction of much needed new social housing with a variety of dwelling types and configurations.

"This program is a critical part of our $5.1 billion commitment for housing and homelessness measures and is providing critical financial support to the community housing sector to deliver for our State's most vulnerable people."
