Two Charged Over Stolen Car Evading Police in Mooroopna

Campaspe Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men after being found driving an allegedly stolen vehicle in Mooroopna yesterday.

Officers attempted to intercept the Isuzu ute on Riverview Drive shortly before 12.30pm however the driver fled.

Stopsticks were successfully deployed on McLennan Street, puncturing one tyre.

The vehicle was dumped on Park Street, where two occupants ran from the scene.

Police quickly responded and located both men, taking them into custody without issue.

A 26-year-old Moama man was charged with a string of offences including home invasion, burglary, theft of motor vehicle and possess handgun.

He was remanded to appear at Bendigo Magistrates' Court today.

A 25-year-old Shepparton man was charged with theft of motor vehicle and bail offences.

He was released on bail to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates' Court on 21 August.
