Two die when car rolls near NSW-Victorian border

Two people died when their car left the highway and rolled near the NSW-Victorian border in the state's Far West this morning.

Emergency services were called to Silver City Highway, 13km south east of Dareton, about 3.15am (Thursday 14 April 2022), after a passing motorist saw a sedan crashed off the roadway.

Victoria Police were first on the scene and advised NSW Police that the bodies of two people had been located near the vehicle, which had rolled multiple times.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, police urge any witnesses – including motorists with dashcam vision – to come forward and contact Dareton Police on (03) 5027 7599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will now be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
