Two people charged with neglect of children, NSW

A man and a woman will appear in court today charged over the alleged neglect of three children in their care within Sydney’s south west last night, NSW Police say.

About 6pm yesterday, officers from Liverpool Local Area Command attended a home to check on the welfare of a teenage girl.

Police arrived at the home and were met by a man and a woman, a teenage girl, and two children in the front yard.

Police entered the family home and were immediately confronted by the living conditions the children were exposed to.

Police escorted the family to Liverpool Police Station and notified the Department of Family and Community Services.

The man and woman have both been charged with neglect child or young person in his/her care.

They were given conditional bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court today.

Anyone with concerns about suspected child abuse or exploitation should call Crime Stopers.
