Two vehicles impounded, licences suspended after burnouts - Traffic and Highway Patrol Command

Two men have been issued with a notice to attend court for driving offences, and had their licences suspended following a traffic operation in Unanderra overnight.

After receiving complaints of dangerous driving behaviour in the Unanderra industrial area at night, officers attached to the Lake Illawarra Traffic and Highway Patrol Command increased patrols of the area.

Just after midnight (Saturday 26 October 2019), officers observed a white Holden Commodore station wagon doing a burnout on Doyle Avenue.

A few minutes later officers saw a red Holden Commodore sedan exiting Doyle Avenue with the rear tyres blown and emitting smoke and sparks.

Officers stopped both vehicles and spoke to the drivers.

Both drivers were issued Field Court Attendance Notices to attend Kiama Local Court on a date to be fixed.

Both men had their drivers licence suspended until their court appearance and their vehicles were impounded for a period of three months.
