Two women have been charged following an alleged armed robbery in states north last week.
About 6.15pm on Sunday 12 July 2026, police were called to a convenience store on Woodlock Street, Lismore following reports of an armed robbery.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District where told three unknown people allegedly entered the store before a staff member – a 25-year-old man – was threatened by a member of the group with a knife.
The group allegedly stole an amount of cash along with other items on the shelves, before leaving the scene in an SUV.
The man was uninjured.
A crime scene was established and police commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquires, about 6.50pm the same day, police arrested two women – aged 23 and 24 – at a home on Rosegum Drive, Goonellabah, and taken to Lismore Police Station.
About 11:35pm the same day police attended the same home and executed a search warrant where a firearm, Nissan SUV, two mobile phones and cannabis were allegedly located and seized for a forensic examination.
Both women were charged with robbery in company.
They were refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 on Monday 13 July 2026, where they were formally refused to appear before Lismore Local Court on Wednesday 16 September 2026.
