UAB Joins Global Education Summit in San Diego

The UAB is currently participating in the 77th edition of the International Conference on Higher Education of the Association of International Educators (NAFSA 2025), which is organised annually in the United States. This year the event takes place in San Diego with the theme "Purpose. Place. Partnership.". The UAB delegation, led by Rector Javier Lafuente, has held many bilateral meetings to further deepen the internationalisation of the University.

The UAB delegation held meetings with representatives from some thirty universities around the world. It presented its different internationalisation programmes: UAB Barcelona Summer School, International Tracks, and various mobility programmes, as well as Study Abroad, managed by the UAB Foundation, and expanded its research collaborations. The delegates also held a meeting with representatives of the University of California.

The objective of this trip is to expand the UAB's international network and establish new links with leading higher education institutions, as well as to contribute to the promotion of new opportunities for collaboration in the field of research and innovation.

In addition to Rector Lafuente, the UAB delegation included Vice-Rector for International Relations Oscar Jané; the head of the Rector's Office, Àngels Guimerà; the head of the International Relations Department, Katja Schustakowitz; the department's institutional technician, Montserrat Alegre; the director of the Study Abroad programme, Rebecca Swanson; and the international coordinator of the UAB Foundation, Richard Turner.
