UC Davis Health is now a member of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health. The consortium is a community of academic medical centers and professionals committed to advancing the practice of whole health care through integrative medicine.
UC Davis Health joins 75 of the most recognized academic medical centers in integrative health, including fellow University of California medical centers, UC Irvine, UCLA Health, UC San Diego and UCSF. The consortium community includes thousands of scientists, educators, clinicians and other health professionals worldwide.

Integrative medicine is a holistic, patient-centered, evidence-based practice that utilizes all appropriate therapies, lifestyle approaches, health care professionals, and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing, according to UC Davis Health's Integrative Medicine program.
"Integrative medicine is part of the future of health care," Dossett said. "Patients are requesting these therapies and choices more and more. We are educating the next generation of physicians in these therapies and conducting more research into how to incorporate them into clinical care."
The consortium hosts in-person events and virtual networking opportunities, including Consortium Connect, an online community designed to connect members. Members have access to educational opportunities, such as webinars, policy roundtables, a leadership development program for future leaders in integrative health, and the annual International Congress conference.
"The member institutions within the Academic Consortium have created a strong network of medical centers and health systems dedicated to transforming the future of health care toward patient-centered, evidence-based integrative care strategies," said Consortium Chair Amy Locke. "We are so pleased to have the team at UC Davis join this community and our shared efforts to advance whole person care that is available to all patients."
