UN Women Board Gathers for 2025 Regular Session

The UN Women Executive Board will convene for its second regular session from Tuesday 9 to Wednesday 10 September 2025 in person at United Nations Headquarters in New York (ECOSOC Chamber).

The President of the Executive Board, H.E. Nicola Clase, Ambassador of Sweden to the United Nations, will open the session on 9 September at 10am EDT, followed by UN Women's Executive Director who will deliver her opening remarks.

Over the two days, the Executive Board will consider:

  • the Strategic Plan 2026-2029 and
  • the integrated budget estimates of UN Women for the biennium 2026-2027.

The Board will further consider:

  • the report on the structured dialogue on financing the results of the UN Women Strategic Plan 2022-2025;
  • the annual joint report of UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, and UN Women on implementing the joint cost recovery policy; and
  • the report on the UN Women Executive Board field visit to Zimbabwe in 2025.

Additionally, it will receive an update on:

  • the progress of the Joint Inspection Unit review of governance and oversight of the Executive Boards and
  • UN Women's operational activities in Eastern and Southern Africa.
